It’s like

I ’m always prefacing my thoughts with “It’s like”.

It was only a month or so ago that I realized why.

Thus far in my journey, I’ve yet to meet anyone who has had what I call my cosmic experience; the one that I think of as being the universe intersecting with my life.

In the here and now everyone more or less understands where the other is coming from.

We are familiar with each other’s concepts.

But I’m coming from a place that seemingly no one but me has ever been.

No one can relate to the actual experience, thus I can only communicate about it using metaphor.

That’s why I say “It’s like” all the time.

I have no other way to describe it.

One time I went to hear some guy speak who was said to be a genius. Afterwards we had a conversation and he told me that everything there is to be said, has already been said. It’s all about finding a more eloquent way to say it.

I had written in my Conversation that these days I find new ways of saying the same old thing dropping out of my pen as I write, and it is this kind of thing, my use of metaphor.

Like when I wrote that life on this planet is like a book we happen to be reading at this time.

We are the person reading the book, not the book.

This second line expresses the truth of the matter more eloquently.
